About Me

I'm a crafting, sewing, loves-to-cook mom of 5 and wife to 1. I learned to bargain shop out of necessity, got lazy and stopped being so strict about bargains, then started back up for fun - and with a family, why wouldn't I want to save money anyway?

My husband is Mr. Fix-it, but he isn't really a handyman, per se. In fact, he doesn't really fix much, except things with an engine/motor. He's a mechanic by trade, R/C enthusiast for hobby and ATV/dirt bike lover by nature. We've been together almost 20 years. Wow! It's almost time to trade him in! Ha

Tall kid is my eldest child. He's 17, independent and his life revolves around music, or at least he claims it's music. Oh, and he's obsessed with zombies. and bugs. Strange child that one is. He still wants me to carry him like a baby. Yeah, that's not gonna happen, son, you're almost a foot taller than me and weigh almost as much as I do. I don't know where he got those super skinny genes from, but I wanna borrow them.

Giggles is child #2. She's a typical teen-aged girl (but she hates dresses or dressing up - jeans are her thing) She likes boys (picture me crying) and hanging out talking about girl stuff with her friends. She's pretty quiet, but when she gets going she cannot stop laughing or talking or moving. A mischievous one this one is, too.

Techno is the third child. He's 14 and, of course, knows it all. He sometimes feels the need to be the only child, or even the only person on Earth, around. Period. One minute the boy can be the most loving kid ever ("Mummy, you're my favoritest mumsy ever!" Let me mention, we're from Texas, where'd this 'mummy/mumsy' stuff come from?), and the next minute he's possessed by demons (yes, plural). The demon moments can usually be avoided by giving in to what he wants, so maybe he should be named super-spoiled child. He's a bookworm and super smart, so maybe he does know it all? Hmm...

Miss Stink is my 2nd youngest, and at 11, she's the meaning of diva. She wants what she wants, when she wants, how she wants. She doesn't settle. That might end up being a good thing, right? She and Techno are so similar that they clash; most of the bickering is between these two. Miss Stink has also always been my shadow. My buddy. Wherever I go, she goes. (remember those dolls?) This one is a true girl in almost every sense of the word; however she's proud to take after her dad in one area. ahem.

Then there's our newest bundle - My cuddly wuddly Baby Boy. He's a beefy cat (not a feline) and learning quickly how to rule the house. He's my newest shadow, but he's not just following me, he's always attached... for now... until he becomes more mobile, at least.

And then there are our dogs:

Big one is a big baby. He scares some people with his looks (I don't see how, he's a pretty boy), but is scared of most everything. He'll bark at strange noises or people and then run to me with a look like "oh no! what are you gonna do about it?" He also thinks he's a lap dog.

Little one thinks he's a big dog and isn't scared of anything. I think too much time with Big one has him confused. You've got it backwards, dogs. Little one is the big dog brother, though. That might explain a little... or nothing at all.

I love my family.
